Exhibitions Galore!
In June 2024, I showed the whole body of work in a solo exhibition at Northlight Studios. I thought that might be the only opportunity to exhibit it. But no! Since then, interest in the work has grown and grown and I'm delighted to announce that from April 12th 2025 a selection of the work will be on display in Castleford Museum for around a year. This venue is very special, because it is where I saw the water jug that was the inspiration for my own ceramic water vessel. The two will be exhibited side by side.
In addition, in a partnership between Castleford Museum and the Castleford Heritage Trust, the large textile piece will be shown in Queens Mill in Castleford from April 12th - 10th May. It will be displayed in a room which looks over the river that it illustrates.
It has always been my hope that the work would eventually be shown on the route of the walk, so I am delighted to have these two opportunities. You can read about our walk through Castleford here and here.
And in what can now legitimately be called a touring exhibition, I can also announce that I have another venue showing the work further along the river in May 2027! The dates are booked and I will share more nearer the time. I'm hoping to find some other venues for late 2026 and early 2027.
At the start of the project, when we were turned down for funding, it felt that we were being told that the project was not worthwhile, but Bob and I always believed in it and determined to find a way to make it happen. We simplified it and went ahead, funding it ourselves. Once I started the process of making, I didn't really consider whether there would be an audience for it, I just knew it was important to me. But that long internal process has come to fruition and I am so proud to be able to share the work and let it go out into the world to have it's own adventures. Thanks to everyone who has encouraged and supported me and helped me to keep the faith.
